Mapilab Pop3 Connector Serial Key
I successfully set up a POP3 Connector with 5 min. Interval in Exchange 2007/SBS 2008. Subtitle translation pdf. It was just easy as setting up a POP account in OUTLOOK 2003. I see the benefit of this fuction because I don't have to open each user's outlook to add POP account in their PC.
That said, what are the benefits of purchasing Thired Party POP3 Connector software for your Exch 2007 & Exch 2010 in SBS 2008/SBS2011? What do those Thired Party POP3 Connector software do that SBS 2008/SBS2011 don't? In addition, I noticed POP3 Connector in SBS 2003 as well with min. Retrieval frequency. I think 15 min.
This tour will guide you through all steps needed for configuring MAPILab POP3 Connector after first installation and get acquainted with the product. Attach a message to it and specify a key.
Is too long to wait for an email. Is that the reason why people buy 3rd party connector products? Yes third party POP3 connectors allow intervals of every minute, as opposed to every 15min on SBS 2003. SBS 2008 allows every 5 minute, which is better but for some organisations its still too long.
Some third party connectors allow custom routing of emails which is a little more advanced than what Exchange offers, for most organisations who use SBS, this should be sufficient. An example with GFI they make X number of concurrent connections to the POP3 server, where X is the number of mailboxes. Where as Exchange would collect emails emails one after another. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the insight. I agree that 5 min.
Interval with SBS 2008 would be sufficient for most small business organizations. I can see thought why 5 min. Might be too long of time to wait for some people and why they go with 3rd party solutions with 1 min. I have two more questions: (1) which product would you recommend for about 15-20 pop accounts as 3rd party software based on your experience - MAPILab POP3, GFI, POPCORN - if they want 1 min. (2) I have a network with 15 pop accounts defined in OUTLOOK 2003 and I set it to check the mailbox for every 1 min. From time to time, users complain that they see 'Send/Recv' stopping at 50-75% in OUTLOOK when OUTLOOK attempts to retrieve emails from POP3 accounts from email service provider's email server. Does this indicate that 1 min.
Interval might be too much/often? Therefore 5 min is ideal?
Your welcome, in reply to your questions. I have used all 3 products, I would say MAPILab would offer the best integration. POPcon is a no frills edition and GFI I have had problems with in the past in terms of connectivity with Linux POP3 servers. Depends pretty much on your budget, probably stick with MAPILab, bear in mind they have two versions depending on your Exchange version. The 1 min interval may be a limitation of concurrent connections from your WAN IP that your service provider imposes, I have seen this before.
However there should be no reason to collect every minute, I would check with your service provider whether they have any limits imposed on their network. To be honest 2-3 minutes is a good balance, providing users don't complain, just need to educate them and explain the email take a while to route through the system. All about patience:).
